Today, I finally resolved to say goodbye to my slow free provider Bplaced and moved to my present domain provider Goneo.
Because my server absolutely needed to act up and prevented me from making use of any kinde of method to comfortably migrate through a plugin I had to do it via FTP. A few hours later I could get the website up, however, I regretfully discovered that the majority of the images couldn’t be displayed anymore – had I been a bit more foresightful I would have tied them in with relative paths on the first time as they all still pointed to the old website.
Fortunately I only had to minimally change the img tags:
<img class="alignnone wp-image-329 size-full" src="http://bseven.bplaced.net/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/freecodecamp-logo.jpg" alt="freecodecamp logo" width="287" height="41" />
<img class="alignnone wp-image-329 size-full" src="/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/freecodecamp-logo.jpg" alt="freecodecamp logo" width="287" height="41" />
For the first time I didn’t curse the lack of content on my homepage – the corrections would have taken a lot more time otherwise.
I plan to rework the design in the near future. Now that I don’t rely on my teachers opinion anymore, I can get rid of a lot of unnecessary gimmicks here.
